The All’s Eye – “Saturday Sessions”

“The All’s Eye Illuminate with Raw Soul and Psychedelic Pulse on Saturday Sessions

The All’s Eye—comprising guitarist and vocalist Ari Joshua, drummer Ben Atkind, and organist/vocalist Kris Yunker—has unveiled their latest live EP, Saturday Sessions, recorded at Barbershop Studios in Hopatcong, NJ. This release captures the trio’s dynamic interplay and genre-blending prowess, offering listeners a raw and immersive experience.

The EP features two tracks: “Gramama” and “Say What You Wanna Say.” “Gramama” serves as a heartfelt tribute to Joshua’s late grandmother, Queenie, weaving gospel-inflected melodies with electric bluegrass rhythms. The track’s soulful undertones and spiritual resilience are palpable, reflecting ancestral love and wisdom.

“Say What You Wanna Say,” originally composed for a boogaloo session with Skerik and Delvon Lamarr, is reimagined here with edgy psych-rock elements and jazz-laced improvisation. The trio’s rendition breathes new life into the composition, showcasing their ability to traverse and meld diverse musical landscapes seamlessly.

Recorded in a single take with minimal overdubs, the EP exudes an authenticity that places listeners in the midst of the performance. The analog warmth and cinematic multi-camera video accompaniment further enhance the visceral, in-the-room sensation.

Saturday Sessions is part of a series of releases from Music Factory Records this spring, alongside Blurry Face, Reversible Submersible, and the studio version of “Say What You Wanna Say,” set for release on May 9, 2025. These interconnected projects feature collaborations with notable artists such as John Medeski, Billy Martin, and Jason Fraticelli, underscoring the label’s commitment to innovative and genre-defying music.

For those eager to experience The All’s Eye live, the trio has announced a series of East Coast performances:

  • April 25 – BNH Stage, Concord, NH

  • April 26 – Vinegar Hill Theatre, Arundel, ME

  • April 30 – Main Line Brewery, Richmond, VA

Saturday Sessions stands as a testament to The All’s Eye’s musical synergy and their ability to craft compelling narratives through sound. It’s a must-listen for aficionados of soulful grooves, psychedelic textures, and fearless improvisation.
