We already had the pleasure of writing about Eric Osterhout through “Dive Bar Love Story”, “Hot Fiddle Player and a Steel Guitar”, and “The Stillness Before The Rain”. Now he is again with us with “Green Eyed Angel,” a beautifully organic Americana track with a strong sense of longing at its centre.
The song lives in that classic country space where attraction already carries a little trouble inside it. Osterhout writes about a connection that comes with a warning, where the narrator understands the risk but still feels drawn in. That emotional tension gives the track its melancholy pull, and the arrangement follows it with a lot of taste.
