Elephant Run Let “Fernanda” Breathe Again in a Rain-Soaked Acoustic Session
Elephant Run’s Mato Sessions version of “Fernanda” feels less like a simple acoustic remake and more like the band gently opening an old song to see what still lives inside it. Originally released on their 2017 debut album in a more rock-driven, psychedelic form, the track returns here with a softer body, shaped by acoustic guitar, mandolin, upright bass, brushed drums, and a more intimate live-room atmosphere.
The new arrangement works because it does not try to replace the original energy with something cleaner or safer. Instead, it brings the song into a different kind of movement. The acoustic guitars and mandolin give “Fernanda” a warm indie-folk texture, while the upright bass adds depth and a slightly jazz-tinted elegance.
